Karen Mosbacher’s work explores the intersection of elegance, movement, and perception. Her paintings of dresses consider adornment as both expression and quiet strength. Drawing from chromesthesia—where sound evokes color and form—she translates music into visual compositions that are both seen and felt.

Maria Battista came alive when she discovered gold smithing in the early 1990s. She fell in love with the materials of the trade and began creating a legacy of unique fine art jewelry that continues generating eye-catching designs today. Her work goes deep in its thematic origins: from ancient cultural and psychological symbols to modern science, cosmology and nature’s riches, Maria draws from her own well of broad interests and global travels. Her images speak to our collective inner life and emerge from a contemplative and poetic orientation to the soul of the world.

Studio Art instructors at Colorado College are skilled artists and educators who are privileged to introduce students to a wide range of traditional techniques, new technologies, experimental practices and visual theory.
Through direct experience, students build a technical skill set and a general knowledge of the visual arts that provide the foundation for undertaking a deeper creative investigation.
